Description

This is based on the true story of the brutal kidnapping of a Palm Springs socialite who was held captive out in the barren desert in the summer of 1979. In an age without cell phones and GPS, the local police and FBI race against the clock to find her before her sociopathic abductor kills her, or the scorching desert heat does. Elaine Chaddick (Denise DuBarry Hay) is a very wealthy middle-aged woman, who must use all of her psychological and her own ‘determination to live’ skills to stay alive. Her kidnapper Bobby Ray (Andrew McGuinness), a veteran of the Vietnam War, wants money. She has it. He’s going to get it. He’s an angry young man, who can be sweet and caring one minute, and without warning, become manic and dangerous - someone you don’t want to cross. His girlfriend, Ginger (Viktoria Stamm), is young, naïve, in love with Bobby Ray and willing to go along with his insane plan. Elaine’s loving husband, Harry Chaddick (John Callahan) is a tough real estate mogul, used to having things done his way, and now must relinquish control to FBI Special Agent Herb Clough (David Naughton) and trust his team will find his wife in time. Do It or Die is edge-of-your-seat action, as Elaine’s attempts to escape and the FBI’s frustration with misleads all lead to a dramatic climax. Do It or Die is based on the book, Night of the Full Moon, written by Herb Clough.
