All the Money In the World

Kevin Spacey was great in this.

Well crafted, featuring solid performances, but generally unremarkable and forgettable. There's plenty of Ridley Scott movies that are both better and worse.

Really liked it. I’m old enough to remember when young Getty was kidnapped, so I feel the movie is quite accurate per news reports of the time. I really enjoyed seeing the financial drama that went on as much of this was not in the news back then. Wonderful performances by Christopher Plummer & Michelle Williams. All around good cast. The last 30 minutes are very interesting & worth waiting for. 👍👍👍😎

Really bad and boring. May have been some action at the end but I have no idea. After an hour of flashbacks I shut it down and went to Youtube for a Movie.

Know him personally. Perfect for the part and all he had to do was act naturally. And Ridley is no Spielberg. Film lacked depth of emotion, characters were two dimensional. It was worth the $.99 rental and I can write it off.

Yes the production values were top notch, however the story get's long, boring, and honestly I started to feel it was more a typical Hollywood political statement. (woman strong - man greedy) Especially if you read up on the subject it sounds like Hollywood left out elements to sell their political narrative. Honestly the most interesting aspect was the villain (in Hollywood’s eyes) someone rich but able to stay frugal concentrating on this would of made for a much better story than trying to sugarcoat the other characters so the audience can actually like them. In the end you will be playing with your phone before the movie is done and the climax is that you can turn it off.

I thought it was a great movie. I could care less if Kevin Spacey was replaced. Getty was played by the right actor. A lot of themes are addressed in this movie, themes that are surrounded by irony of course. Greed, family, drugs, divorce, corruption, the strength of women in the family, the weakness of men in the face of money, pride, and of course, taxes...and all so beautiful wrapped in irony. And the irony was they for all the money in the world he could have had, he took nothing with him and in the end the one person he kept trying to screw over and put aside, was the one who was put in charge of Getty’s vast fortune at the time. The irony was, too, that for all the money he was making, he could t spend it...only invest it because he was so cheap that he had set up his company as a charity that never gave. The irony, again, was that family, towards the end, appeared to have meaning to him, but he did everything in his power to destroy another family and separate a mother from her children even though his own son was a rotten drug addict who couldn’t hold a job or take care of his own family. It was perfectly explained why he was the way he was, why he made the decisions that he made. And there is a possibility that Mr. Getty was an autistic man. The fact that he was a money-pincher at all costs, is a testament to his OCD with money that perhaps had its roots in autism. He didn’t seem to understand the importance of love because if he did he would have paid immediately for his grandson, if he did he would never have tried to separate the mother from her children. Instead, he would have seen that it was all his son’s fault and he would have paid to keep the mom and her children close to him so he could be with his grandchildren...it is my understanding that this character might have been autistic for these reasons as well as his obsession with art. The movie was deeply layered with conflicts and themes that were quickly resolved when Mr. Getty died as he was the root of despair and evil within the Getty family.

I thought it was a great movie with stellar acting.

This movie is worth every penny to rent or buy. It is one the the Tomates got right, for once. Anyone over the age of 30, should be able to learn an emense amount of lifetime knowledge. And this knowlege can be appreciated even more by any Italian-American; or person that has spent a great amount of time in Italy (or traveling for that matter.) The younger populaion during our time, wouln't even begin to fathom the velocity of the theme of this movie. Mark Wahlberge, played a brilliant roll. Without his performance, this movie would be nothing. Anyone could play the crotchety Getty, or Ms. Getty. But Mr. Chase (Mark Wahlburg is the glue that holds it together; and the guide that allowes you to followand understand the lessons, to be learned. Without ruining the movie, I can only say this, "Money isn't everything, but family & friends are everything." Enjoy, and take time watching every detail; and you will see that Money cannot buy love, loyalty, life, freedom, or happiness. That comes only from within !!!

Enjoyed watching it. Christopher Plummer was great, as always. He’s a classic actor. Glad Kevin Spacey wasn’t in it cause I would not have watched it now that I know what he has done.
