Description

When Krypton’s last son crash-lands in Cold War-era Russia instead of rural Kansas, an alternate reality unfolds in this DC Elseworlds adventure. Here, we find Superman spearheading a Communist campaign to advance the ideologies of the Soviet state. Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, brilliant American scientist Lex Luthor devises a plan to rein in, and ultimately destroy, the alien Soviet threat. What follows is a gripping game of cat and mouse that will leave all of humanity hanging in the balance.

Wow. This movie blew me away. I'm not even a superman or animated fan. I'm pro nationalism and a conservative. I was very suspect about this movie. Aside from wonder woman being the most annoying character, this movie was a solid A.
  • Not horrible but a bore

Get rather boring fairly fast, don’t recommend if you expect quality
  • I wasted $4 to watch PROPAGANDA

This had to be the worst piece of overt leftist propaganda I have ever watched. I thought it might be a pretty cool twist on the original. I thought it might not have all the leftist crap that every movie and TV show has in it these day because I saw that the graphic novel was written in 2003. Boy was I wrong. Don’t waste your money. All you need to know is that it’s just full of intersectionality, critical race theory and they take a couple of shots at President Trump. Theses leftists will never learn that they just turn people off every time we turn on a movie and it filled with this garbage. They have zero imagination to make something that is political in nature(Superman as a communist)without pushing their own agenda and screwing it all up. I also find it interesting that Apple pushed all the 5 star ratings to the top even though there is as many 1 star ratings as 5 star. I’m only giving it five stars to see if I can make it up top and try to help other people from wasting their money.

As someone who LOVES the “Red Son” graphic novel, I’m really disappointed in the movie. My disappointment doesn’t stem from any sort of political bent or issue with the movie, it’s that it strayed from the original story and left out some great scenes, information, and subtext. I’d recommend reading the graphic novel instead of watching this movie.

  • Like a Salad Bar...

You want it to be good, you convince yourself it will get better with each bite, but in the end...you leave unsatisfied and suspicious of the salad bars lack of knowledge of salads and how to properly present to us without losing the original format during the process. Or completely ignoring that medium all together, in which case makes it even harder to swallow. If you have read Red Son, you know what a great graphic novel it is...if you haven't then you probably aren't missing anything and ignorance is bliss. But I have had a ceasar salad, and I love them...but if I go to a salad bar and expect a ceasar salad??? Well I don't know how to make one, so I wasted my time and money on a salad without the ceasar.
  • We loved its unapologetic lack of political correctness...

...so refreshing these days. The ending felt a bit rushed and stereotypical, but heck still much better than most
  • Can safely put this on your no watch list

If you have the money to rent/buy this movie then do yourself a hug favor and instead get the comic, this is more like a D- fan fiction of the source material. Not worth the time or money invested in it.
  • Not a very good adaptation

The comic version of Red Son is an amazing story. I was very much looking forward to an animated version, especially with some of the talent they had like Jason Isaacs. Unfortunately, the movie is far from the original story. I understand some people saying it’s a good movie, but in my opinion this one should have been more faithful to the source material. The things they took away from the story are made worse by the things they added in. It’s just not that good.
