Description

From the producer of Get Out and Halloween, comes a timely take on a cult horror classic as a campus killer comes to face a formidable group of friends in sisterhood. Hawthorne College is quieting down for the holidays. But as Riley Stone and her Mu Kappa Epsilon sisters prepare to deck the halls with a series of seasonal parties, a black-masked stalker begins killing sorority women one by one. As the body count rises, the sisters start to question whether they can trust any man. Whoever the killer is, he's about to discover that this generation's young women aren't about to be anybody's victims.

This movie is so unrealistic, sexist, and repulsive. In a reversal of the intended outcome, the movie portrays the female cast as discriminative, sexist, and bigots. Yes, I will be issued a refund for this waste of time. Woke garbage. Looks like this is what the vast majority of all other viewers thought as well…

How could they screw up this film so bad especially when it was a remake?

This is just a poorly done movie, remake or not. The acting isn’t great, the characters are interchangeable and 2-dimensional. What makes me super angry is that this has ruined the chances of an actual Black Christmas remake, as this has nothing to do with the original or the 2006 remake, and is purely using the name to carry a poor attempt to appeal to angry young women that would hate this kind of cliches and offensive movie anyway. This waters down very real gender divide issues by turning the villain at the last minute into a (SPOILER) supernatural presence.

Did this movie want to be scary? Or did it want to be funny? It sort of tried to do both and failed miserably, managing to only be an agenda film that rammed feminism down my already feminist throat. Please don’t use movies to preach. It’s gross and has zero entertainment value.
  • I was cheering on the killers....

I’d rather have a double-fisted prostate exam than watch this again. It’s like someone took a Twitter fight thread and used that as the script. Skip this and watch the original Black Christmas from the 70’s instead. It gets one extra star for Imogen Poots but even she can’t rescue this dumpster fire.

This was an interesting struggle. I did like the atmosphere and the acting overall, even a little bit of the over the top bad guy(s) part at the end which was laughable yet enjoyable. BUT despite me liking the acting, I hated every character. No one should’ve lived at the end of it. No one. I was rooting for everyone to die, which is not a good thing. Except for Cary Elwes because he should never die in a movie. They really pushed the male bashing in this..cringe worthy.

Typical political correctness, white man bad and women good. This movie is typical Hollywood tripe ! Hire tough actress without the need to talk about it. Remember tuff women in the eighties, nineties and this decades. Give me Charlize Theron !
