This movie is hilarious, and it’s also such an emotional build up movie too. Really recommend to anyone that enjoys fantasy movies.

I was only 5 when I saw this. But after watching it again, 21 YEARS later, just last year, I have come to realize that this truly is a GREAT movie!

  • Nope. Not for me. Game of thrones stomps on its dated corpse

Wish I had noticed that all of the most helpful reviews were from 2008. Check out newer reviews. The quality is way below what I was expecting across the board. I never saw this before now. It is tough to watch and I have low standards. I can sit through the Star Wars prequels just fine.

I've loved this movie ever since I was a kid. Dennis Quad and Sean Connery make a terrific duo. Plus I love Dragons, and the legend of King Arthur and the code of Chivalry. And lastly, I look to the stars every night to see the constellation "Draco" and admire its magnificence.

I remember going to see this movie when I was a teen back in 96. At the time, the effects were top notch and I truly loved the movie. It's score was the first CD I had ever purchased and I remember waiting quite impatiently for its eventual VHS release. While revisiting this 90's gem was a real treat, I found that it wasn't nearly quite as magnificent as I once remembered. There are many things to truly love about this film, the over all story and character development are fantastic, the effects still stand up for the most part, and the score is still as beautiful as ever (I still have it on my iPhone). What prevents me though, from giving this film more stars is the horrific dialogue and some pretty stilted acting. David Thewlis does an amazing job, and it's hard to believe that this same actor would go on to play the noble, yet tragic, Remus Lupin in the Harry Potter series. He's scary and makes you hate his character (He murder's his own mother for crying out loud!). The other cast members... not so much. Maybe it's because they use terms and phrases (and accents) meant for a different age. Maybe it's because much of what they are saying is just simply trite. At times, I found myself having a hard time staying entertained. If this was meant to be a kid's movie then I wouldn't feel so bad, but it isn't. Again, this isn't a bad movie, it's just not a great one. Maybe I feel this way now because Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones spoiled me on how fantasy films should be made.

Stunning graphics combined with a warm story allow a rather formulaic script to become a better tim than it might have been. The surpassingly star-studded supporting cast (Pete Postlethwaie, Julie Christie, and David Thewlis) offer convincing performances. Sean Connery's Draco adds true magic to this unassuming film. The score is excellent.
  • Good movie, but the errors are noticible

I enjoy every time I watch this movie, but I have noticed numerous errors that the quality assurance team missed. I'm going to avoid spoilers here, so I won't go into detail. Just be aware that this movie is not perfect and some clear errors that should have been edited were missed. Overall though, a good fantasy movie.

I've been watching this movie since I was like four years old. My dad was the one who watched with me. I love this movie! It's awesome! I still cry at the end. Rotten tomatoes don't know what they're saying!!

This movie is one of those movies that I will always love! Dragons have always been cool to me, and Sean Connery's voicing of Draco is awesome! I had seen clips of the James Bond movies and I watched him in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade(another of my favorites) and I just have to say Sean Connery is one of my favorite actors! And I found Dennis Quaid to be quite entertaining. This movie is very good and I again just love it!
