Description

When Leon Kaufman's (Bradley Cooper) latest body of work – a collection of provocative, nighttime studies of the city and its inhabitants -- earns the struggling photographer interest from prominent art gallerist Susan Hoff (Brooke Shields), she propels him to get grittier and show the darker side of humanity for his upcoming debut at her downtown art space. Believing he’s finally on track for success, Leon's obsessive pursuit of dark subject matter leads him into the path of a serial killer, Mahogany (Vinnie Jones), the subway murderer who stalks late-night commuters.

One can't say much about this gorey unrealistic film except to warn others to miss it. No police invovement, nothing to convince a viewer this is nothing more than a blood bath. I will be certainly never to watch another film by this director. I should have known better. This film isn't "a little disturbing" it is incredibly disturbing and pointless.

Truth is, this is a really, really stupid movie that’s completely unbelievable. But I’d be lying if I didn’t say it was a good time. I like pre-superstar Bradley Cooper. He really gives his all in this one, which is weird, because it feels like a comic book film at times.

Too bad that someone competent like Argento couldn't have scripted/directed. This train goes round in circles. None of the characters were 3-dimensional, all just there to search for a story plot that never emerges.

The point of an intelligent horror film is to make you re-examine the familiar in a new and potentially disturbing way. This movie does that in spades. Where does art intersect with crime? How far will we go to pursue our goals? Are we masters of our society or the ignorant cattle lowing in the darkness. Kudos to all involved. And to the Haters out there -- the underlying plot and title are from a Clive Barker short story so get off your soap boxes and open your minds. Not perfect by any means but well worth the watch. Some very intense gore and cool twists along the way.

Midnight Meat Train, though having a great title and building great suspense throughout, falls back on a tired and stupid twist. The entire movie is realistic - well, as much as a modern slasher flick can get, until the writer found it necessary for our antagonist to be an alien, the most ridiculous and despised of all horror twists.

This movie is great! Be warned, it is not for the faint of heart. This movie is gruesome and it will stick with you for a while but trust me, this is one of the best horror movies I have seen in a long time. Fantastic acting for a gore film, believable characters (for a while at least) and lots of blood. Come on, it's called Midnight Meat Train for gosh sake! Did you think it was a Disney movie? Rent it or buy it but don't miss it.
