Description

Stephen King's Carrie White (Sissy Spacek) is a lonely, withdrawn high-school student who is the object of ridicule because of her drabness and because of the influence of her mother (Piper Laurie)--a religious zealot who has kept her in the dark about all things feminine. When Carrie experiences her first period in the gym shower, she is teased and humiliated. Threatened with expulsion from the upcoming prom, the girls' ringleader (Amy Irving) devises a plan: Amy's boyfriend (William Katt) will pretend to court Carrie and then Carrie will be elected Prom Queen. At the prom, Amy and her cohorts (including John Travolta) drop a rigged bucket of pig's blood on Carrie. Carrie's kinetic powers are now unleashed in one of the screen's most-celebrated depictions of merciless and unstoppable fury.

For being the first Stephen King novel to be adapted into a movie, director Brian DePalma did a terrific job on this one! Truly faithful to the book and truly terrifying! Sissy Spacek is excellent as Carrie; it’s impossible not to feel sorry for her!👍🏻👍🏻
  • Stephen King masterpiece

Carrie was a non-fiction storyteller that frames it all with classic terror and real effect violence. Either way this adaptation of the Stephen King novella was spine tiggling, scary, terror sues everywhere!

This is probably the darkest film I’ve ever seen! Even by Stephen King’s standards! I love it!
  • Better than the book!

This is one Stephen King film adaptation that is actually better than the book. One of the best horror films ever made. Sissy Spacek is amazing in the title role. The ending gave me nightmares when I first watched it, but the whole film is great. Classic.

The remake is on TV right now, horrible just horrible. The original is classic and all the actors were amazing. I saw this in theaters when it came out. The ending made everyone in the audience jump. The ending in the remake is genuinely stupid. I didn’t notice in the about movie, it is not Amy Irving and William Katt who devise a plan against Carrie. It’s the other girl, can’t remember her name but she’s John Travolta’s girlfriend. Somebody smoked their breakfast.

This movie is very slow. I rented it hoping to be scared to go to bed that night, but nope! For the first hour it’s just this awkward girl’s life and it’s not scary until the end! Just skip to the last 30 minutes if you’re looking for horror.

Where did this lame ridiculous stupid new artwork come from? iTunes, work on improving your service (start with getting rid of that crappy TV app) and less wasting time coming up with alternate movie artwork.
