Refusing to surrender, he sets off on a path of lethal revenge, pitting him against his former commander. This is my favorite Clint Eastwood movie and that's a huge statement considering The Good, The Bad and The Ugly trilogy. The cast is superb, Chief Dan George provides humor to a tragic chain of events for Josey. Sandra Locke and Clint have a great on screen presence, you can feel the love. His Rag-Tag group features people we are familiar with and have come to know from past performances. I own it digitally and on DVD media, I highly recommend!

This is Clint's Best Film. He directed this one and was its star. Far better than Unforgiven, but so far ahead of its time the Academy ignored it. His acting is spot on. The lonely outlaw running from authority in order to restore his family who were caught up in the bloody crossfire of Missouri Kansas border wars during the civil war. I loved it before I moved from the South to Kansas City. But, love it even more today as the people here seem to still recall the divisions created from that bloody state line and period in American history. The writing and bits of humor will melt you into each Character. A truly exceptional and large cast throughout. Rent or purchase this film and you will understand my review.

This is one of the my favorite overall movies. It's well written, has a great cast, and is full of classic moments. It's packed with action, drama, tragedy, love, and humor. It's also has many memorable, often darkly humorous, lines. This is a must see!

One of Clint Eastwood's best westerns, this film is action packed, well acted, and a great story. I especially enjoyed the interaction between the characters Josey Wales and Lone Watie. If you enjoy a good western, this film is for you.

First off let me say, I have seen most if not all the westerns ever made. No joke! So let's start with this, this movie is visually stunning in every way. There's a realness to this movie I liked. How ever it left a lot of points on the field, so to speak. I wish they would have done more too show josey ( Clint ) learn his craft of war and guns. And the part where his comrades are murdered was a little half hearted. Over all a good movie and worth a watch. Oh and the so called leading Lady is a joke!! Enjoy the the movie folks
