Reviews

  • Don’t waste your time or money after Episode 7 (Love and Marriage)

The love story of Jack and Elizabeth is THE reason people watched this series. It was the storyline in the books by Janette Oke. The producers and writers were not respectful of that storyline. They killed Jack this season after manipulating and deceiving fans all season just for ratings. The storyline was insensitive and unnecessary. Millions of fans were devastated, heartbroken and have abandoned the show. Episodes 3-7 are amazing and worth watching because they focused on the wedding of Jack and Elizabeth. The remaining episodes will either rip your heart out or bore you to tears.

It was great until the last two episodes. I Jack could've got sick and died. At least we could've said goodbye.

Amazing to be able to watch a true family film that teaches one to give second chances and many other excellent life lessons. Praying that it continues and cannot wait for season 5 to be on Netflix!

Season 5 of when calls the heart was a terrible season, and not worth wasting money on! They ruined a wonderful show! Season 5 had as much crammed into as they could put, so they could end it with killing off one of the lead characters. It was very obvious that they only cared about their ratings, and season 5 doesn’t even deserve 1 star! Don’t waste your money!

Let me start by saying that I loved When Calls the Heart since the beginning of Season 1 and I have never been a Hallmark Channel kind of person. This show made me feel good and gave me hope, not only for the characters portrayed on screen but also in my personal life that anything and everything going on would turn out okay. Utter disappointment is the best way to describe the fifth season. The fans were tricked into believing that everything would be okay. It is not okay to lie to fans of the show for 18 months and then all of a sudden the male lead is killed off with no warning. No wonder fans are angry!! We are told to “get over it” and “it happens in real life” but this show is not real life. It is fiction and Hallmark Channel has always been a “happily ever after” kind of channel. Jack and Elizabeth made this show and now it is forever ruined. I will not watch the upcoming season (or future seasons if any). To the writers and producers of the show: shame on you to think that you could get away with killing off Daniel Lissing’s character and not expect backlash. Poor decisions on your part have not only cost you many fans but you have run a perfectly entertaining and wholesome show into the ground. Way to go!!!

This was a feel good show until they killed off Jack, who with the character Elizabeth were of the main reasons for watching. Totally crushed viewers along with sloppy writing. Seasons 1-4 are the best. Don’t waste your money on season 5
