Description

Often described as a sitcom with a difference, The Young Ones features the lunatic exploits of four students of Scumbag College: Vyv, the punk (Adrian Edmonson); “socially aware” and “politically conscious” Rick (Rik Mayall); Neil, the hippy (Nigel Planer); and Mike, the well-dressed smoothie (Christopher Ryan). They share a dilapidated house in North London owned by their dodgy landlord Jerzy Balowski (Alexei Sayle). They are the least compatible house-mates it is possible to imagine, and when they are not tearing pieces out of each other, they manage to get involved in the most bizarre of comic escapades.

I understand why the networks are losing their influence, shows like this are the reason why. Outstanding! I cant imagine he overly moralists amongst us will like it much, but those types should not be watching premium cable shows anyhow. All the same I bought season two and watched it all in one sitting so now I've failed to stretch things out and am now jonesin' for season 3 to be released. Fantastic show..and I might say a dangerously overly 'fantastic' marketing tool for us naive folk that believe all these people live lives so hard, fast, fun, tragic, and complicated in SoCal, You might have a country bumpkin jumping on the first Greyhound looking for a way out of rural banality to his/her demise.. The name says it all, be warned!
  • British TV Finally on iTunes

Ahh, The young ones. A classic Brit Sitcom from the early 80's. The very fact that iTunes put this up makes me hope that other great British Sitcoms will be up here soon like Bottom (also starring Rik Mayall & Adrian Edmonson), The League of Gentlemen & Psychoville. If you're looking for some of the best non sequitur slapstick to come out of the UK since... um... well, if you're looking for the best non sequitur slapstick to come out of the UK, Period... Buy this show.
