Drop Dead Diva's season three opener continues the story of the hit Lifetime Television series with a celebrity-packed celebration featuring guest stars Paula Abdul, LeAnn Rimes, Wendy Williams and Mario Lopez, as well as a musical dream sequence choreographed by So You Think You Can Dance's Keith "Tyce" Diorio. Other guest stars this season include Kathy Griffin, Wanda Sykes, Clay Aiken, Lance Bass, Amanda Bearse, Tony Goldwyn, Howard Hesseman, Sharon Lawrence, Faith Prince, Jennifer Tilly and Louis Van Amstel.

    Love, Love, LOVE this show!! It is by far, THE most HILARIOUS, and often Heartwrenching, not to mention Heartwarmingly entertaining TV Show I've seen in ages. Can not WAIT for Season 4 to start!! This is one happily addicted DIVA.... Addicted to Drop Dead Diva that is!!! :-D

    In the first season, Jane (Brooke Elliot, who I remember and LOVE from her blogging days, when she was a fashion maven for fat girls before any of the major stores started selling clothes in sizes above 10) had some stereotypical dialogue and actions (grabbing a donut while her room mate was cutting up fresh fruit, trying to hide her pastry eating from men, cheese from a can? etc.) I know a lot of activists for fat acceptance who refused to watch the show based on that writing. In season two, there was much less of that, and more overall character definition. By the third season, Jane's weight was a non issue. She did everything and anything she wanted to do, and nothing she didn't want to do. It was like watching any other dramady, except the principal character is an inspiration to a generation of young girls who don't have a lot of role models to look up to who aren't a size 6 and under. The message: fat and healthy is better than skinny and bulimic. I don't have cable, and I don't have a TV. If I watch a season of a show, it's because I bought it. That happens about once a year. This show was worth buying. I even bought the record! :) highly recommended.
