Description

In the first season of Star Trek: The Next Generation, the Enterprise is led by Captain Jean-Luc Picard on its maiden quest to "boldly go where no man has gone before." The crew travels to the far reaches of space and encounters lost travelers, mysteries galaxies and the entity only known as Q. Along the way, they must help one of their own who is taken prisoner by a force that survives of the suffering of others. Picard faces his competency as a captain while dealing with the loss of a crew member and must discover the intentions of the Federation as the Enterprise is sent to confront the Romulans in the Neutral Zone. Stand out episodes include "Datalore", which takes a look at Datas' home world. And "Skin of Evil", where the crew must save Troi from an alien planet after her shuttle crashes.

I'll stick with Netflix, thanks. $65 a season? $15 for a 2-part episode? You people have lost touch with reality. Stop trying to take advantage of the fans.

I think the first season of TNG is an amazing start to the series. The character development is great, the plots set up TNG as a diverse television show exploring philosophy, ethics, morals, religion, politics, and metaphysics. Some shows have battles, some have witty debates, some are mysteries, some involve a particular member of the crew, some involve the whole of humanity, some deeply address the purpose of our existence or the existence of any life form. This is a must watch for anyone wanting a richer deeper experience from a TV series.

Star Trek The Next Generation episodes are always stellar and this one doesn't disappoint. The transfer is good ( not perfect) and the sound is adequate. The only issue with this episode is Westly Crusher, What an irritating character he was! Once again he is causing problems...usually by disobeying orders, only in this case he skirts by by merely breaking a planet's law. Westly aside, this particular episode is full of "eye candy" that must have put the network censors into a coma! I wish the transfer was better but this episode is well worth owning.
  • Overpriced Without Last 3 Seasons

I am a Star Trek fan, bu why are these season packs so expensive? There are 7 seasons to this Star Trek, why are there only 4 seasons available for purchase? Buyers you are better off watching these seasons on Netflix for a membership fee of $8.00 a month.

I am unsure why Apple allows reviews for opinions on price. Great show, great plot, yes it is expensive but Star Trek commands it. There are other Sci-Fi shows for those seeking $15 prices. The episodes in this season are great and the costumes are more in line with the original before they were made to be unisex for political correctness.

TNG is the best of the series and the fact that iTunes provides these is great. Part of me wishes that I had purchased the HD because on a 32" you can tell the difference if you're about a foot away, but for normal viewing the quality is fine. Via iPad there's an option to fill the screen, but it chops off some screen real estate top and bottom (which is lame on the opening sequence of the Enterprise and stars in front of a planet, so we usually just try and ignore the black bands left and right with the SD). I'm not sure if the screen size is like that in HD. Plus the HD price is too high! CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHEN THE REST OF THE SERIES WILL BE COMING OUT?

Star Trek the Next Generation was a great series and I'm glad it's now remastered on iTunes. Not sure why people are complaining about the price. It's only $2.69 per episode to own these great episodes forever. Much better than streaming them. Can't wait for the remaining seasons!!!!!
  • Amazing show, but what a price
