Lonesome Dove is the best if you dislike it your the devil

In my opinion this is a true American Masterpiece and I agree that this is the pinnacle of a “western” that all others be judged.

I WILL GRANT IT IT IS GREAT SO I HAVE HEARD. THEN, WHY IS IT NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE HEARING IMPAIRED BY PROVIDING CC? CHOPPED LIVER????

Forever in my mind and heart. My mother bought the dvds years ago and it blew my mind. So happy to have it in digital. It really looks clearer, HD wise, which was a nice surprise. I will continue to watch this mini series time and again for the rest of my life. Thank you to everyone who created this mini series and have now continued it on into the digital future...

Where do i even begin with this show, maybe I'll start with the acting. Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, and the entire cast truly shine in this series. They show us the true fun, heartbreak, and struggles of the Wild West. Everyone I know who's seen this series has had no complaints about the show, it's really just that epic. The filmmaking is top notch, and the dialogue and story never bored me for a second. Those are just some of the reasons why this show won seven well deserved prime time Emmys. It's my #1 western, and I encourage everyone to watch this show, to get a real feeling of what the west might've really been like

Absolutely fantastic journey with some great characters... For me, Lonesome Dove is what all other Westerns are measured... An American Shakespeare classic. The book is a must read.

My father wanted to show me this epic, and I was quite resistant to watch it but as soon as I turned it on I was hooked. I recommend this to everyone (except little children because of Blue Duck). Hope you find my review helpful!!!!!!

Watch this series often. Downloaded it on my iPad to watch while traveling. The only "glitch" is that it downloaded 2 instances of episode 2.

I believe that this is the best miniseries ever made. Of course there is Roots and The Thorn Birds, but this is the one I have watched 10 times and never tire of. I am not a true fan of westerns but this is so much more than that. It's a classic and you won't forget it once you've seen it. The music is fantastic too.

Quite honestly...this is the (((best))) Western ever made! One of the few film adaptations that is as good, if not better than the book! You will laugh, cry and fall in love with some unforgettable "catch phrases" too. Tommy Lee Jones, Robert Duvall, Danny Glover and Anjelica Houston ALL give the best performances of their careers! Even if you're not into Westerns, you'll appreciate the story line of a simpler time when a man's word was (((more than))) his bond. ...a MUST SEE!...
