This is my favorite show! It's so amazing to see such a big transformation happen in the course of 2 days and with only $10,000. This is definitely one of...if not the BEST reality show out there!
  • It's still a "reality show," but in spite of that, it's actually REAL.

I've been a fan of Food Network's Chef Robert Irvine since his early days on the network (in a show called Dinner: Impossible). In Chef Irvine's new show, he visits failing restaurants and, with only two days and a limited budget of $10,000, he does everything in his power to fix the restaurant. Chef Irvine is a culinary master. I have had the pleasure of personally meeting Chef Irvine, as well as attending some of his live shows. If anyone has the skills and knowledge to save a failing restaurant, it's him. Many of the restaurants that Robert has visited in Restaurant: Impossible are not only still open (when they were before on the verge of failure), but they are actually thriving after embracing Chef Irvine's changes. People will, of course, draw comparisons between Restaurant: Impossible and "that other show where they save failing restaurants," Chef Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. Both are fine shows in their own regard, but while Ramsay's show focuses more on drama and arguments, Chef Irvine's program does a much better job staying grounded. There are, of course, arguments and other staples of reality television - but the show manages to be so good that those aspects become tolerable. If you are interested in the restaurant business, or if you are looking to learn some great restaurant-style recipes, this show is for you. If you're a big fan of the constant screaming, berating, and other reality television bull**** found in the show Kitchen Nightmares, you'll probably still enjoy this show, but perhaps to a lesser extent. In closing, I'd just like to say that Chef Robert Irvine is the real deal. I've met the man, and I've been watching his shows for years - I've even had the privilege of watching an episode be filmed. There will always be those sceptics who believe that this show is a fake, but I assure you, it's as real as "reality TV" can be.
