Description

Body and Soul: The State of the Jewish Nation presents a comprehensive examination of the broad and deep connections between the Jewish people and the land of Israel. World-renowned historians, archaeologists, political scientists, religious leaders, and experts in international law and media trace the evocative evolution of the relationship between the Jewish people and their homeland that is over 3,000 years old. Designed to refute the still pervasive arguments employed by anti-Zionists that Israel is illegitimate and has no right to exist, Gloria Z. Greenfield's documentary delivers its passionate case with convincing cogency and a wealth of scholarly information. In just over an hour in duration, Body and Soul: The State of the Jewish Nation sweeps over thousands of years of Jewish history in the land of Israel and across the Middle East, Europe, the United States and Russia. It capably covers Biblical history, the origins of political Zionism, the Holocaust, the Six-Day War, and the creation of the modern state of Israel. Featured among the three-dozen notable and articulate commentators are Bret Stephens, Victor Davis Hanson, Ruth Wisse, Alan Dershowitz, the late professor Robert Wistrich, Einat Wilf, Benny Morris, and Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks.

This impeccably researched and beautifully made film engages the viewer with archaeological and historical evidence that presents the story of the connection between Israel and the Jewish people. I learned facts that really counter the myths and propaganda so common today. Beautiful film!
