Description

Tom Hiddleston stars as Dr. Robert Laing, the newest resident of a luxurious apartment in a high-tech skyscraper whose lofty location places him amongst society’s upper class. Laing quickly settles in and meets the other tenants: Charlotte (Sienna Miller), a bohemian single mother; Wilder (Luke Evans), a charismatic documentarian who lives with his pregnant wife Helen (Elisabeth Moss); and Mr. Royal (Jeremy Irons), the building’s enigmatic architect. Life seems like paradise to the solitude-seeking Laing. But, as power outages become more frequent and building flaws emerge, mainly on the lower floors, social strata begins to crumble and the building descends into a class war.

  • Awful doesn't begin to describe this

Vacuous, pretentious, bloated, mind-numbing piece of crap. Seriously, how could anyone take this seriously? TH's abs are swell. God bless everyone who works on creating entertainment and art. They seek to entertain, inform and enrich our lives. Except this. Ugh.
  • Confusing and weird

I thought it would be much better. The set design, custumes and filming were great. Good actors. I think reading the book would be better. Something was missing in the movie script. I did'nt think the violence and mayhem fit the overall storyline. I would re-do and come from a new angle. It was confusing and weird.
  • Incoherent, Boring, and Gratuitous Violence Against Dogs

First off, this film has unnecessary gratuitous violent scenes where animals are killed or harmed. That immediately makes the film sickening to watch. Moreover, the film is just generally sort-of unwatchable. It's meant to be allegorical and artsy, I think, but honestly, I couldn't follow the plot and found it unbearably boring, not to mention disgusting. I generally am open to artsy films and even I couldn't get through this movie. Skip it.

    It's bad in all ways.
  • Terrible. Pointless. Miserable. Couldn't even finish it.

There is no reason why this movie ever got made. It is devoid of an idea, devoid of anything resembling actual entertainment. It's not even "not laugh out loud" funny. It's just terrible. It makes me want to fly to England, stalk Tom Hiddleston, demand an apology from him and then punch him in the nards anyway.

I have never had to turn off a movie in the middle. It was weird and made no sense. I thought I was watching the theatre of the absurd Tock-tick, tock-tick. I'm surprised at the hight rotten tomatoes rating.
  • Amazing, but NOT FOR EVERYONE

This movie is a visual masterpiece that clearly took a lot of money and planning and creativity to execute. But...***be warned***, it gets very strange and savage. Beatings, rape, orgies, suicide...if you aren't into A Clockwork Orange, this isn't for you. That being said, it's full of dark humor and genuine creativity. I loved it, but you should know it's definitely not for everyone.
  • Groundbreaking, electrified classic.

This film was quite an experience. As a huge fan and lover of all of Tom Hiddleston's works, this one really was his best performance. The other actors, who were just as superb from Sienna Miller, Luke Evans, and Jeremy Irons, everyone synced together so perfectly. The cinematography and plot was spot-on. Seeing Ballard's novel come to life was truly worth the wait. The film sheds light on the truth of the matter that everyone has a different side to themselves, whether it's chaotic, disturbing, dark, or just extraordinary to others. It is true that society has its flaws, which is why I found it fascinating to see Ben Wheatley bring Ballard's to a complete focus on the concept built around a utopian structured building to fall apart and become something rather dystopian. It is truly a must-see.
  • “A Clockwork Orange” this is not

As the subject says, this movie is a far cry from “A Clockwork Orange,” though it certainly tries. I think it had potential but unfortunately it falls way short.
  • Totally overrated

Good start but gets too confusing and boring very fast. Not worth the money at all!
