Description

Winner of the Best of NEXT Audience Award at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, First Girl I Loved is a poignant coming-of-age tale that captures all the anxiety, bravery, and heartbreak of first love. On assignment for her high-school yearbook, social-misfit Anne (Dylan Gelula) charmingly hits it off with the beautiful star of the softball team, Sasha (Brianna Hildebrand). But when Anne tells her best friend Clifton (Mateo Arias) about her new crush, he reveals a hidden jealousy that threatens more than just the girls’ budding romance. Writer/director Kerem Sanga tells this remarkably touching story with a multifaceted style that is as fresh as it is daring. Brimming with authenticity and humor, First Girl I Loved offers a delightful, contemporary perspective on the jitters of new romance and the age-old heartbreak of love.

The sensuality in this film is pure art! This is what a movie about coming out and finding yourself needs to be. It's so pure and innocent, it really shows what it is probably like or should be like in today's era. Sometimes you find love in the unlikeliest of places, sometimes it's not even love but a crush.

Absolutely believable performances from the three leads, but also the supporting cast. Not a false moment.

Are you people serious? This is the worst acting coupled with the most feeble storyline and boring presentaion I have ever had the misfortune to rent. At 99 cents it is a rip off and should be valued at around 1 cent, tops. Fraud

Such an amazing movie. It's like a coming of age movie for questioning teens. The only thing the frustrated me was the ending but still amazing

As someone who just graduated high school, I can say this film is brutally honest in showing actual issues that teenagers face. So many aspects of the film mirrored my own experiences in high school and it really struck a chord.

The beginning was great. Then the middle came, and drama was building up and things were getting tense then BOOM ITS OVER. I paid 5 DOLLARS for this can I at least have an ending please.

I was very impressed with how this film was shot, the actors were spectacular and it accurately described the high school experience of coming out. Could not be more pleased with everyone involved with this fantastic storyπŸ’•

The story was great but the ending left several things to be desired. It felt rushed and, spoiler, left the main romance plot unfinished. I enjoyed the movie, but the ending ruined it for me.
