  • Almost as good as the remake

    I’m brand new to these movies, never saw the original..but I’d heard things. I wasn’t interested. Life went on. Then Covid has me going through every movie I and 5 digital services can provide and I gave the remake a shot. Saw this was same director gave me hope. This movie is about as good as you can get and not have it star the same Final Girl. It hit all the buttons of what makes a top notch sequel. What you like in the first? Here’s more! Worse but good worse if that tracks. More Revenge? You got it! More toe curling stuff. Hard to watch got harder. Good solid lead / Final girl. Worse(people you enjoy wishing terrible things on) rapists and killers so the payoff (SPOILER ALERT) where they all die horribly is satisfying. A very different protagonist and circumstances. No cabin in the woods here! No creative writer, instead a hard core model. No Americans lol. Basically they took the same basic plot and changed 80% of the circumstances and Amped it up a notch. It’s not the perfect sequel but with movies like this what’s that even look like??
