Description

A shocking revelation turns a teenage boy's world upside down in this chilling look at the evil that can lurk below even the most wholesome surface. Tyler Burnside (Charlie Plummer) is a Boy Scout, a volunteer at his local church, and the dutiful son of an upstanding, community leader dad (Dylan McDermott). Only one thing troubles the quiet Kentucky town he lives in: the unsolved murders—in which ten women were brutally tortured and killed by a psychopath known as Clovehitch—that rocked the community more than a decade ago. When Tyler discovers a cache of disturbing images in his father's possession, he begins to suspect that the man he trusts most in the world may be Clovehitch—and that his deadly rampage may not be over. With unrelenting tension, director Duncan Skiles crafts a picture-perfect vision of the all-American family—and then piece by piece rips it to shreds.

  • Why all the good ratings?

While the acting was decent, nearly everyone especially the son and dad (killer), made stupid decisions and mistakes making this a very unbelievable movie. Not sure why it has such high ratings, there are much better serial killer movies out there

What began well ended very poorly. The woman the kid's father is about to kill is spared by his son and girlfriend but we never learn what happened to her. And what is worse is the fact that you spent $4.95 to download this turkey. Don't waste your time and whatever you do don't believe the reviews that claim this film deserves one's time. This is kind of a Stephen King rip off anyway.

I really liked this one. Keep Charlie Plummer on your radar for up and coming young actors his recent roles in movies such as “Lean on Pete” and this one have shown his potential in film. I can’t wait to be able to buy this movie soon.

Listen I'm just gonna be real this movie isn't scary...at least not in the traditional sense. It's not gonna give you nightmares, make you pee your pants or give you goosebumps. What it is gonna do though is give you a sense of dread, the familiarity of the small suburban town and the average American family is going to make you think "What if?" What if this situation could or is happening right now in your small town? This movie has the same disturbing quality as Hereditary but without the jumpscares or gore. If you like horror but also thrillers than you'll enjoy this move 10/10.

I'd never heard of this and found it while browsing for a movie to rent. Although there is little action, this really kept my attention. This is perhaps more of a character study, but very believable as it mirrors what many say about serial killers.
