Description

An unflinching comedy about why women choose motherhood, why they revere it, fear it, and why some women choose to forgo it. Over the course of one explosive evening, two couples and a surrogate must face their own ridiculous and sometimes heartbreaking shortcomings. With sharp cutting dialogue and complicated characters, EGG is about the personal, social, professional, and ideological implications of bringing new life into the world. Artist Tina (Alysia Reiner, “Orange Is the New Black”) and her passive-aggressive feminist husband (Gbenga Akinnagbe, “The Deuce”) invite her eight-months pregnant art school rival (Christina Hendricks, "Mad Men") and power hungry, new-money husband (David Alan Basche, The Exes) to their Brooklyn loft, surprising them with Tina’s new work-in-progress: a radical alternative to motherhood. But when their sensuous, non-traditional surrogate arrives (Anna Camp, Pitch Perfect) the truth comes out, and the patriarchy fights to hang on by its teeth.

Waste of time. I can’t believe iTunes is charging to own this movie. I wouldn’t download it for free. Watched it on Netflix. Do yourself a favor and pass.

There’s 2 hours of my life I’ll never get back. So sick of agenda driven shows/movies.

I swear I can’t even tell you the plot of this movie. Literally two couples bickering through the entire movie and trying to up each other.
  • Wonderful (and timely) film!

The movie is a comedy but it deals with a reality women face and no one talks about - society takes it as a given that women will have children, but it's a woman's choice to decide what is best for her and what that looks like. Anna Camp is hilarious. Alysia Reiner and Christina Hendricks really make you feel for what women go though when making these life changing decisions. Rent it!

Loved this! Great cast, different style than I normally watch but it was very entertaining.

Not the comedy that we were expecting - more like dark humor and the whole movie takes place in one location... hard to stay focused.

Nothing funny, interesting or even remotely relatable about this movie.

I rented this because I love the cast. However, it was painful to get through. I couldn't understand why the acting and the script was stunted. I learned after watching it that its based on a play and that answered my question. It was like sitting through a bad and boring play. The overall story line was interesting and relevant but with bad executing in the making of this movie. It could of been so much better.
