Description

Centuries old and enjoyed by millions worldwide, golf is seen by many as more than a sport. Yet what do we know about the person behind the player carrying the bag? In a documentary unlike any other, Loopers: The Caddie's Long Walk explores the incredible personal bond between golfer and caddie. It is often said that a good caddie does 3 things: show up, keep up and shut up, but these stories will make you rethink the role of great caddies. The film unveils the working dynamic between famous partnerships like Tom Watson and caddie Bruce Edwards. It also delves into the making of a caddie’s career with stories like caddie Greg Puga from East LA who fought his way to Augusta to play in the Masters. Loopers is a visual tour de force shot on iconic courses across the U. S. and Scotland. Crafted in the spirit of documentaries like “20 feet from Stardom”, “Jiro Dreams of Sushi” and “Step into Liquid”, it is a must-watch story of the game of golf as you’ve never seen it before.

We’re well after the release date and it’s still not available for viewing? Way to capitalize on the hype following the director’s media tour and interviews!

I loved this documentary narrated by Bill Murray. Being an Evans Scholar and a looper at The Bears Club. I loved receiving history of the profession and could relate to the caddies who are in the piece. I loved seeing the breathtaking scenery of Scotland and being introduced to the quick wit of the loopers. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys the game of golf⛳️

I caddied for more than a dozen years. I saw this movie at the Santa Barabara film festival while I was out in California to visit some friends. In a word the film is Spectacular. My club just ordered the film and we're going to do a screening this summer. All the big name names are in the film and the different personalities that are covered makes it very watchable. I'm going to show it to my daughers in a few years and encourage them to go after the Evan Scholorship for caddying (talked about in the film). Bill Murray does a nice job narrating too. He's funny but serious in the parts of the movies that call for that. Can't wait to add this one to my collection.
