Description

Kept locked inside the house by her father, 7-year-old Chloe lives in fear and fascination of the outside world, where Abnormals create a constant threat – or so she believes. When a mysterious stranger offers her a glimpse of what's really happening outside, Chloe soon finds that while the truth isn't so simple, the danger is very real.

Freaks was the best sci-fi movie about a settled verison of the world were we live in a normal life but there are freaks who are dangerous in this world. 7-year old Chole lives in fear with his protective father and Chole is really curious of the outside world were she believes a "treat" to society. Chole's curiousity of the outside world is treated like a joke at first but the rest of the film is brilliantly acted, well shot and overall it makes sense with the premise of the curious sense of this girl.

The story is fresh and new, and has a lot of twists and turns. But it’s also on Netflix so go there if you wanna watch it

The tile of my review is NOT a spoiler. They’re not my thing hence I would not have wasted my time watching this movie if I’d know that.

You won’t regret watching; an excellent showcase of powers and originality. Not cinema quality effects but cinema worthy plot and acting make up for that.
  • Incredible filmmaking maintains secrecy for the plot and it reveals itself at the correct moments.

Incredible filmmaking maintains secrecy for the plot and it reveals itself at the correct moments. Stocked with solid performances, Freaks is a clever sci-fi/horror hybrid that suggests a bright future for co-writers/co-directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein. Freaks is a compendium of movie love, as much as it is a movie. Its success rests on an astonishing performance by Lexy Kolker, who was seven when the film was shot.

A fantastic rental. It does start a little slow but I found that to be appropriate character and story development. It picked up as the mystery began to make sense and unfold! A new concept in a time that we are seeing a ton of reboots is refreshing. The acting was spot on and the characters had great chemistry. If you enjoy intrigue, sci-fi and twists you will enjoy this, go ahead and rent it! In closing, I normally take reviews with the grain of a salt. I’ve disliked movies rated five stars and loved movies lesser rated. This is one of those times where the good reviews got it right and the poor ones, I don’t know maybe they are just very critical individuals or like to know everything in the first 30 minutes of a movie. Either way this movie doesn’t deserve the 1-3 star ratings it has received.

This is a terrible movie. Who ever reviewed this movie were obviously paid to do so. The real FREAKS here are those who made this film.

I have no idea how I missed this in the theatre. One of the great surprise, out of nowhere movies I’ve seen in awhile. Do not read plot details and go in as blind as possible.
