Description

Ten years into his small-town, storybook romance with Abby, Hank suddenly wakes up to an empty home. With nothing but a cryptic note to explain why she left, Hank’s charmed life begins to fall apart. To make matters worse, Abby’s disappearance seems to trigger the arrival of a ferocious creature that crawls out of the old grove on the edge of his property. From the Producers of The Endless & Spring and the creators of The Battery!

It’s a little slow, but it builds, ending makes it worth dragging along. If story matters to you, this is a fun one

I was very disappointed with this movie. The preview made it look amazing, but it was slow and didn’t feel like a horror movie.
  • Poorly Crafted Indie

There's nothing wrong with a slowly paced indie or using genre to explore a relationship, but the problem with After Midnight is its lazy execution. You can't excuse a lack of chemistry between leads or uninteresting camera work or costumes that look straight out of their packaging on a low budget. If a 10+ minute oner is stilted, then it's not a bold choice, it's self-indulgent. I read good things about this one but was decidedly underwhelmed. Critics need to stop giving movies like this a free pass.

Another great Indie. This movie is not as obvious as you would think, and not your typical horror. It's one of my favorites now though. go for it.

I‘m always puzzled by the high ratings for such poor movies. How is that possible? Bad acting, no suspense, bad cinematographie...skip.

You want a romantic monster flick..........Spring. You want to waste an hour or so bored hoping that at some point it will get interesting but NEVER does? This................FFS! I had to rewrite this because it is painfully obvious that SOMEONE is trying to get your money. Dont buy it...........dont rent it. This is probably a normal day in rural America with the added bonus of having a kid in a costume show up near the very end of the movie. You will NEVER get the hour back. Just dont.

You have besmirched the good name of LPOTL and I demand an apology. Apple viewers do not waste your time or money on this garbage. How this is rated so high on RT makes me believe everything is a lie. The best part was when the credits rolled and I knew it was over.
  • More of a “romantic” film

Really enjoyed this movie and thought the concept was interesting. It’s labeled a horror movie but there isn’t much to be scared of. The last 30 mins or so have some great moving scenes. A solid film all around that is horror/romance.
