So much wasted potential. This is by far the worst of the grudge films. It doesn’t capture the eerie nature of the older films in the slightest. It makes me mad this trash film isn’t for rent on any of the major streaming platforms. You are forced to buy it, I guess they have to make their money back somehow.

I was expecting a lot from this movie, but it turned out to be a big catastrophe instead! The story felt a little disorganized and I was wanting to see kayako in the movie, but all I’ve got was a reference to kayako! That was it! This was trash! Especially the ending! Why does muldoon die but Burke stays alive in the end?! That’s just a stupid content! Curse you nickolas! You ruined Japan horror! I have full regrets of watching this remake!

Only had to watch 10 minutes of it to see how terrifying stupid it is. Thankfully I got it from the library so I’m not screaming for my money back.

This movie is actually really good, I saw the trash reviews before I saw it and I was going on not expecting a good movie. Boy was I wrong this movie is actually scary unlike most horror movies. Lots of good plot twists and an amazing ending. Must watch trust me

Why do I crave White Castle Cheeseburgers after watching this movie?
  • Big expectation, bigger let-down.

I somewhat expected to get genuinely scared the way I did when The Grudge was released in the early 2000s. What I got instead was just a very disappointing movie. Not one second during this movie was I ever scared, in fact my face throughout the entire movie was 😒. One of the worst remakes ever. If you’re like me and watch horror movies to actually get scared once in a while, don’t waste your time on this movie. And for reference, I’ve never written a movie review until I watched this.

Wow I’m surprised by a lot of the bad reviews. This movie was terrifying! Full of jump scares, dread, and hidden ghosts. Also be warned, very graphic/gory at times. Adding this to the Halloween watch list for sure. 👻💀🎃

Nothing to write home about. Decent amount of gore, some good jump scenes.

This is the most heavy-handed mainstream horror film I’ve ever seen. It uses every trope and trick that’s in the book, and moves at a breakneck speed to fit them all in. And while the story moves quickly, some scenes and shots feel long, like the timing in editing is not right. There are so many characters with side stories that you spend the entire film wondering which one you’re actually supposed to be following. I’d say this was worth the $1 —based purely on the price, but wouldn’t give it more than 2/10.
