  • Slow and boring

Wow these reviews must all be from people who worked on the film. I usually love indies but couldn’t get past the first 30 minutes. Extremely slow plot and characters were very difficult to like or relate to. I really didn’t care about any of these people. For a fascinating portrait of life in Appalachia, see the superb “Winter’s Bone”.

An incredible movie on all fronts. The writing is realistic, the direction is focused, and the acting is superb, especially from newcomer Emilie Dhir. Very much looking forward to keeping up with the talent behind this movie in the coming years!

I flew across the country to go to the world premiere of this movie at Mammoth Film Festival. It handedly beat all the other feature films. The acting, directing, cinematography, and musical score punches so far beyond its weight it is incredible. Easily one of the best if not the best Indie Film I've seen. I am entirely unsurprised to see the number of awards this movie has won!

A southern beauty! This film will certainly take you on a ride of emotions. I love movies that surprise you. There’s a scene where I was truly shocked and gasped out loud. I love the beauty in Kentucky and especially in the cinematography and the music. The last few minutes will have you in tears. This is a “must see”. Beautifully written as you hang on every word. This movie will grab your heart.

This film is everything I want in an indie film. Stunning cinematography, deeply profound characters, a rich vibrant world, and a shocking twist. Storytelling is KING here and that’s why you should see this film. Not one element is “called in”. PLEASE rush to watch this incredibly deep and touching film by first time Director and Writer, Bethany Brooke Anderson. You will not be disappointed!!

Oh & Emilie Dhir plays an exceptional role - we will definitely be seeing more of her!! Props to Burning Kentucky!! 👏
