Description

In Clark Duke's directorial debut, Kyle (Liam Hemsworth) and Swin (Clark Duke) live by the orders of an Arkansas-based drug kingpin named Frog (Vince Vaughn), whom they've never met. Posing as junior park rangers by day, they operate as low-level drug couriers by night under the watchful eye of Frog's proxies (John Malkovich and Vivica A. Fox). Swin then settles into his day job by taking up a relationship with Johnna (Eden Brolin) against orders to blend in, while Kyle continues to question his night job by trying to figure out who Frog really is. Their world is then upended after one too many inept decisions, and Kyle, Swin, and Johnna find themselves directly in Frog's crosshairs, who mistakenly sees them as a threat to his empire. Based on John Brandon's best-selling novel of the same name, Arkansas weaves together three decades of Deep South drug trafficking to explore the cycle of violence that turns young men into criminals, and old men into legends.

Feels like a Cohen Brothers film, but takes you in some different directions. Breaks some stereotypes as well, interesting characters and great storytelling. It’s worth a look if you enjoy a Fargo-type movie or if you like to change up your movie tastes for a minute. A great first film for Clark Duke.

Clark duke’s comedy is great it’s nice to see real smart ass characters instead of the same old over the top hard characters this was definitely a hidden gem

I love Clark Duke, but this movie was super depressing. Best line: “Being the smartest monkey means you’re also the most confused monkey.” Eden Brolin was a delight. I just wished the plot went somewhere besides utter darkness.

It was so incredible boring. Bad. Awful. I can’t believe I got to an hour of the movie. I tried so hard to get to the end of the movie. The movie is two hours long. I swear who ever put up those good reviews need to some help. I would’ve put 0 stars if it was possible. This is just bad.

It’s not often I rent a movie for 99 cents and feel like I’ve been short changed. Worst movie I’ve seen in a very long time. A real struggle just to finish it.
