I thought I was buying the 25th anniversary concert....completely my own fault. Alfie Boe, as usual, is amazing. Michael Ball was excellent too. The actor singing Enjolras had a fabulous voice...I couldn’t get past the man bun though....ah well. I’ll read the description better next time.
  • Michael Ball and Allie Boe - great duo!

Ever since I saw this production in my local theater I’ve wanted my own copy. This is the most comprehensive concert of the staged musical. Michael Ball (the original Marius) is spectacular as Javert and his signature number “Stars” is outstanding. Allie Boe reprises his role as Jean ValJean when he appeared at the O2 concert for the 25th anniversary. His tenor voice is probably the best rendition of the repentant thief since Colm Wilkinson. He truly “brings it home” with that signature song as well as “Who am I.” Together will Michael Ball they bring their chemistry that makes their conflict spectacular. Notable performances include Bradley Jaden as Enjorlas, Carrie Hope Fletcher as Fantine, Matt Lucas and Katy Secomb round out the cast as the Thenardiers. Also Shan Ako’s rendition of “on my own” is very moving. Complete with intermission and the after show it well worth an investment. A must for any Les Miz fan.
