The well scripted dialogue, engaging acting, and music scenes with Chicago the band make this a must see. A rough day for aspiring director Benny Blake makes for an entertaining film for the audience. I particularly enjoyed the comedic one-liners and the never-ending struggle for Blake to get everyone onboard with his vision. This piece is yet another validation of Peter Pardini’s place in the film industry. A great choice for some quick laughter and entertainment.

Incredibly naturalistic yet zany performances (yes it’s both) by Armbruster, Studi and the rest of the cast, including Douglas Bennett as the bizarre homeowner who is a unique brand of Freemason. The movie is obviously very low budget but it gets 5 stars for how much this feels like a real life event that was documented. Most mockumentaries don’t do it for me because they still have a scripted feel but this one is so natural sounding while still being pointed and most importantly, funny. I’m not sure this film will get its due because of how low budget it is but if you happen to read this, I highly recommend it. Chicago’s cameo is hilarious and Wes Studi’s final speech puts a great button on the movie - the entire thing (only 80 something minutes) really feels like an accurate portrayal of what it would be like to be on a nightmare set but it never feels judgy or inside baseball. Watch it!

I loved this hilarious romp about novice Filmmaker Benny Blake attempting to shoot a movie in one day and the chaos that ensues. It’s fast- paced and the cameras keep rolling through every possible disaster Benny encounters on set. Surrounded by true film professionals, veteran actors Joe Mantegna and Wes Studi ( playing themselves), a solid cast and even the legendary rock band Chicago, Benny takes us all for a wild ride in film making, filled with smart humor and great character studies. Another very satisfying film by Peter Pardini.

Laugh out loud funny, great cast plus Chicago! Really enjoyed this film and it’s off-beat humor.

Peter Pardini is, hands down, one of the best new directors to emerge in quite a while. Still a young man, Pardini is beyond his years. Unlike most of his peers, this guy obviously knows cinema and delivers his original stories with sophistication. I was initially knocked out by his Netflix documentary about the legendary rock group Chicago and am continuously engaged by his work. Rolling Thunder is just one "joint" in a growing filmography. Rolling Thunder is wildly entertaining with moments of bold, laugh-out-loud absurdity. Academy Award winner Wes Studi delivers a must-see soliloquy for the ages.. I can't say enough good things about this director.
