Description

Jules Willcox (Netflix’s Bloodline) stars in Alone as Jessica, a grief-stricken young widow who flees the city in an attempt to cope with the loss of her husband. When Jessica is tracked on the highway and then kidnapped by a mysterious man, she wakes to find herself locked in a cabin in the Pacific Northwest. She soon escapes into the untamed wilderness with only her wits to rely on for survival as she is pursued by her murderous captor. The key cast includes Marc Menchaca (Ozark, The Outsider) as The Man, and Anthony Heald (The Silence of the Lambs). Directed by John Hyams, this English-language remake of Mattias Olsson's 2011 Swedish film GONE is a terrifying masterclass in primal suspense.

This is an excellent film. If you’re looking for a mature, well written and well modulated psycho thriller, then this is your movie.

This is the best movie I saw all year thus far, which may not be saying a lot considering we haven’t had access to many new releases thanks to the plandemic. The male lead is perfect for this part, he’s weird, creepy and surprisingly scary with many layers.

This was a pretty good movie although I think more should have happened in that basement in order to begin to build on the crescendo of fear to bring on maximum anxiety to the viewers that I would expect to come before the escape and then forest scenes. The first scenes were a little bit slow but the pursuit towards the end definitely kept your interest and then moved along very well towards the end when Jessica turned the tables on him on her predator and then literally hammered him to the hilt! Overall I would give this movie a four star rating and good B+! S. Thomas, Tampa Bay, FL

Not a bad story and fairly good performances all round. Some parts of the story, particularly the decisions made by the woman when trying to avoid capture, were just too pathetic and for me proved to much to digest. Ruined the movie. Wait till it's on NETFLIX

This movie was slow and just crap. I read the reviews and was excited to see it. I’ve seenSimilar movies that were done a lot better with pretty much the same storyline

We watch a lot of movies. This movies had the best reviews. We were stoked. I guessed the plot in the first 10 minutes. After 40 minutes we fast forwarded and watched the rest of the movie. Guess what, didn’t miss anything. These reviews saying this is anything but garbage can’t be real. Don’t waste $7. Please. Just don’t. I’d rather watch the new Magic School Bus series while walking on legos. Just don’t.

Sometimes when I profoundly disagree with reviews I read, I wonder how the authors and I could’ve watched the same film. Like the reviews calling this movie boring, for instance. This movie was the antithesis of boring. In fact, horror is my favorite genre, and I can’t remember a movie that elicited this much of a visceral reaction from myself, in years, if ever. I had to keep pausing and building up the stamina to continue. Realistic situations will always be the scariest to me. This movie and its plot are right up my alley but for some reason, I was reluctant to watch it. It was something about the trailer I didn’t like. And I guess I’ve seen so many female survival films, I just thought they’d been done to death (no pun intended). It just goes to show that it doesn’t matter how many predecessors there are with similar plot lines, if a movie is done well. I’m so glad I gave this movie a chance. This is the movie I’ll remember, this is the movie I’ll watch again, and this is the movie I’ll suggest to friends. And for the people that found this boring, remember that as you’re reading this, this is someone’s current reality. Maybe not the cat and mouse aspect, so much, but someone, somewhere in the world is being held against their will and fighting for survival right now. So be glad you even have the freedom to think something like this is boring. Some people aren’t that fortunate.
