This slow-boiling portrait of an American family in the 1980’s comes to a very bittersweet an unconventional ending. Only watch if you like simple moments, but not a solid story for fictional films. Be prepared for ups and downs. And ultimately, a tragedy.

This movie is not worth the time and rental. The plot had potential, but it is so slow, takes you nowhere and the ending is there worst possible.

Slow and the movie goes nowhere. Pretends to have a deep message. Don’t look any further. It doesn’t. Plain dumb.

This is got to be the worst movie I’ve ever seen in my life. Nothing about it is good. Absolutely a waste of time. Don’t even spend $4.99 to rent it. I cannot believe I just wasted 90 minutes of my life on this.

Nothing burger. Plot is boring with no real twists, nothing interesting cinematically or performance-wise to make up for it.
  • Boring and pretentious

This may very well be the worst film I’ve seen in all of 2020, and I’ve watched A LOT of movies this year. I refuse to bail on movies I pay to watch, but sticking with this one was truly an endurance test.

This movie is visually stunning, the moodiness of the lighting, movement of the camera, and the gut grabbing music make you feel all the feeling the characters do as you watch. It is set in the 80s, and feel realistic to what the 80s were like, the style, the changing economy, the push to have and consume more and more. The characters are fantastic and real. If you didn’t already love Carrie Coon before you will after this. Jude Law is sly charming and dangerous. I loved the speed of this movie. It never felt to slow or like it missed a beat.

You keep waiting for something to happen and then you realize that what’s happened is you’ve been watching a boring movie with a cliche plot.
