Fanboys

A fun movie for anyone who loves the Star Wars movies. Let your hair down, take off your shoes, grab the popcorn and prepare to laugh as you relate to these fellow fans as they road trip for a friend for a chance to see the big movie before its theatrical release!! Seriously just buy it! You will have fun watching it more than once. I include it into my Star Wars binge watching. Watch Fanboys then Menace and the rest in chronological order!

Fanboys isn't what you would call "A-List Material", but dammit, it's a FUN ride into the youth of the 1990s. I was 10 years old when the original Star Wars hit theaters, 13 when Empire came out, and 16 when Return of the Jedi came out. I was 32 years old when The Phantom Menace hit theaters. So, I can REALLY relate to the characters in this movie. I was not much older than they were in the story. Say what you want about the Prequel Trilogy, like it, love it, or hate it. Doesn't matter. This is the story of a group of friends, one of whom (spoiler alert) may not live to see Episode I released in theaters, so they take a road trip across the country to get him a sneak peek at the movie before he leaves this world. I don't know HOW they got all of the cameos into this movie, but I'm highly impressed, as well as the other references outside of Star Wars. This movie is a MUST SEE for any Star Wars fan, especially the older ones, who were young adults when Episode I came out. Myself, I watch the original theatrical versions of the OT, Fanboys, THEN start with Episode I going chronologically. My grandson is now 13 years old, and I can't wait until he's old enough to see this movie. Just a few more years, given some of the content of the movie. I highly recommend seeing this at least once, you never know, you may end up loving it!

This movie is what I go to to take a trip down memory lane. Makes me remember my past friends and all the wild and stupid things we did. It’s not Oscar material, but you will absolutely enjoy this movie.
