So I’m not sure how this film managed to get 100% on rotten tomatoes.. it’s a bit of a mess. Was I entertained? Sure. But the middle act pushed over the edge too much into campiness that it was hard to take it seriously in the final act. Maybe rent it if you’re bored and are in the mood for a cheesy slasher. But don’t buy it cause it’s not a film you’ll want to rewatch.

So this is a remake first of all only in Killer and Title alone. Yes, the original was filled with the same sexual tropes. Maniac with a “huge drill” (you know why that is in quotations) goes after gorgeous young women. I agree with another review in stating that this is way to “woke”. The original played the hand better. air was a decent horror film that you could understand the point that was hidden if you really paid attention. This bashes you in the face. Girls go plan a getaway to kill a killer they believe to still be at large. What crap is this? The killer is ridiculous in here. The original had a more terrifying villain. The scariest thing about this movies villain is that he thinks it is creepy to get his side profile in frame. Acting is ok, not great. The coolest thing is the guitar. Yes. a candy apple red guitar that gives ya at the original films sequel. I saved you money. This is just like the second remake of Black Christmas…..garbage.
  • Too inclusive and woke

Glad it only cost $8. The concept is great, but the execution focused too much on being inclusive and woke for me. A slumber party where there’s no blondes and not a single of them them is pretty? Please.
  • Surprisingly ridiculously enjoyable wash

Very campy like the original … They knew what they were filming and remaking and they had fun with it … full of unexpected twist …. And very campy fun … it’s worth the watch

This is an inventive modern take on the formula established in the first three films, with a few surprises along the way. Horror fans will also spot numerous references to other horror classics like My Bloody Valentine, The Burning, Psycho and more! The first two acts are a fun rude, but the third act gets a little sluggish and I wasn’t crazy about the twist. This is definitely more of a comedy than a horror film, although some of the jokes were a little too on the nose for my taste. Not as good as the first two films, but a huge improvement over the third, this is a welcome installment to the franchise. Pretty much what you would expect from the director of The Banana Splits movie and the screenwriter of Leprechaun Returns!
