Description

In the 70s, Randy Rhoads’ guitar riffs reshaped rock ’n’ roll and raised the stakes for guitarists everywhere. As the lead guitarist for Quiet Riot and Ozzy Osbourne, Randy made a name for himself at a very young age. You can still hear his hair-raising guitar solos on the albums Blizzard of Oz & Diary of a Madman. Tragically, Randy died at the young age of 25 in a plane crash. Known as the James Dean of rock ’n’ roll, he left this world too soon, but his soul and music live on forever.

Def Leppard, GNR and Metallica got me into guitar in the late 80’s. But it was Randy Rhodes that made me fall in love with the guitar. I went on to study classical guitar and I still play it now. Recently my friends young son was jamming on old rock and metal. I showed him RR and he was immediately into it. I went home and started jamming on it too and then I found this documentary. I wish he and SRV would have lived twice as long. RR was the best !

First of all ts is great seeing the early years. For those complaining about more in depth …you should realize the difficulty the Ozzy and Rhoads camp will not work with anyone. Don’t know if it’s money or the truth, but thank you for making this documentary from what you could work with.

Randy certainly deserves to be recognized … much of this is from the Ron Sobel documentary with lots of little extras … the sound and production was much better and this is very well done .. could have been more interviews with the family and those who knew him though … but this is a must for any true RR fan .. i absolutely do NOT agree with EVH that Randy got it all from him and any real musician can tell the difference , don’t know why they chose to put that little snippet in there … love EVH and love Randy … but there is a HUGE difference in their playing styles and both had a mega influence on guitarist that can be heard to this day … THANK you to the producers of this Rock Doc … long overdue for Randy Rhoads .. Rest In Peace ThunderBird

I liked it. I read a lot of reviews and many weren’t happy with it. Unfortunately there is not a lot of stuff out there about Randy so I really did enjoy it. The first concert I ever attended was the Blizzard concert. I was fortunate to see him play live. I was 15 and didn’t know much back then. Regardless it was an awesome experience. I will watch this again with my son and from time to time come back to it.
  • It was good. Needed to be more in depth

Good documentary but they should have gad more involvement with OZZY. They could have provided more footage of Randy playing. I liked seeing the Quiet Riot footage but to see him play at the height of his powers would have been ideal. Glad I bought it but wanted more.

It’s about time some one did something for this man who has influenced so many musicians I wish it was longer and more footage of him playing. But I’ll take anything at this point
