Michael Webber presents the compelling story of former police officer/firefighter/EMT, Tim Harrison, who loves to rescue animals in his spare time. Moving into the world of television with his local show in Columbus, Ohio, teaching about the animals he’s rescued, Tim became the go-to person to help when first responders encountered wild animals in their work. He began to ask serious questions as more and more of these creatures began to show on the scene, especially as they grew larger and more rare and exotic. When a full grown tiger leapt from a burning house over the heads of their crew of firefighters, he knew they had a serious problem. Discussions with owners of exotic animals revealed their connection to imitating the celebrity conservationists seen on late-night TV and on reality shows, causing Tim Harrison to take stock of his own influence on viewers. When attending a wild animal auction, Harrison was rocked to his foundation at what - and who - he saw there. Following the connections between late night celebrity conservationists like Jack Hannah, Dave Salmoni, Jarod Miller and others and the search for these ambassador animals, Harrison confronts himself and his childhood hero to finally get to the truth.

One of the most devastating and revealing documentaries I've seen on the zoological industry. If you thought Tiger King was a shocking exposé of how corrupt private owners like Joe Exotic and Doc Antle are, this will offer a much deeper and even more unbelievable perspective. I grew up wanting to be a zookeeper. I looked up to people like Jack Hanna and Jarod Miller. I never want to see an animal paraded on a talk show again. Watch this doc as soon as you can!

You will never see our “Zoo Heroes” the same way again after watching this documentary. I cannot recommend it enough and I can’t wait to see what they uncover next!

Never has their been an expose so powerful! It’s not just one person, it’s of pandemic proportions of the players that exploit exotic animals. Finding that these animals are living shorter lives because of the trauma they’re experiencing at the hands of in”famous” players in the exotic animal world. These people who say they want to influence change and save species only to pocket the all mighty dollar and leave the animals to rot in back yard menageries. Everyone, no matter who you are, should watch this film.
