From Oscar® -nominated Ron Shelton (Best Writing, Original Screenplay, Bull Durham, 1989) this hot action comedy is guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat...and in stitches. Starring Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett, Hollywood Homicide redefines the buddy-cop genre. In Hollywood, no one is who they really want to be. Veteran police detective Joe Gavilan (Ford) and his rookie partner K.C. Calden (Hartnett) are no exception. Between Joe's struggling real estate business and K.C.'s fledgling acting career and yoga instruction, they've got a major murder case to solve. With both Internal Affairs and their main suspect on their tails, Joe and K.C. have to infiltrate the dangerous world of the hip-hop recording industry. Juggling two careers proves to be a comical adventure, with Joe and K.C. desperate to stay alive long enough to catch their big break.

I really enjoyed this film. The characters are really easy to believe in and the odd things happening seem so hard to predict, but possible. In all, a really enjoyable film.

Even the legendary Harrison Ford is crippled by this awful movie and succumbs a painful script and delivers weakly, even though he's the strongest actor of the bunch. There's no establishment of the characters, the two leads barely know each other. The cinematography is HORRIBLE. The subplots are deemed so important that I didn't actually know what the real plot was! It's almost entirely just about a guy selling a house! And for the final nail in the coffin, Ford is in a passionate sex scene when he picks up a donut and proceeds to eat it during the sex. Do I really need to go further? Do you really want to waste 4-15 dollars?

One of the funniest buddy cop movies. Harrison Ford does a great job of playing the stressed out veteran and Josh Hartnett is perfect as always.

Seriously….they offer this movie, but nothing from the Indiana Jones series?!? Come on iTunes…you are better than that!

Josh Hartnett and Harrison Ford play their roles extremely well with the occasional laugh. Good film, likely paving the way for future crime dramas such as NCIS or CSI NY. Overall not bad, but lot of mixed reviews

in a way, it's not fair for me to review this movie, because at about the 2/3ds point I got up and left. The editing is so choppy-sloppy, and the lame sub-plot of whatshisname also being a real-estate agent feels like it was b-roll shot on set that they thought was so funny they thought, hey let's edit it into the movie. Badly acted, badly directed. I can't tell you about the ending, though -- thankfully I missed it.

I saw this when it came out and I remember LMAO so hard!! It is funny, engaging and well acted (or not, in the case of Hartnett's character's acting career). When I thought of it recently and went looking online, I tried iTunes first and was truly surprised to see such poor reviews. I usually like what the critics like. But I disagree. It's not a 5 star, probably wouldn't even be a two thumbs up, back when it was Siskel and Ebert. But I give it 4 stars for keeping my attention with well played details, the comedic combination of these two actors in itself is hilarious, not to mention their respective ring tunes! Funny stuff, folks. A good one to release your endorphins, and make you feel better.

This must have been a stimulus job for unemployed actors or something. Mr. Shelton should be ashamed. Really, this one is not worth ninety-nine cents. You should not have much trouble finding something better than this on the firesale shelf at Blockbuster.

Don't listen to any of these other bad reviews. This movie is awesome! Great character development stuntwork and acting. After purchasing this movie, I immediately deleted all of my other movies and kept this one. It's all I am ever going to need. Great repeat value too!
