Defense lawyers in this case worked far harder than anyone to make sure truth and justice prevailed for a good natured 15 year old kid. What made this movie facinating is watching the detectives blatantly admit they didn't even bother to investigate the crime and it didn't bother them at all. Even the prosecuting lawyers in the case looked like they didn't even believe the detectives. This is a lesson that too many people of power are continuing to spit on due process and justice in this country which is a crime itself.

Its rare to witness someone doing what it takes to stand up for the truth and ruthlessly defend the innocent. And when they do, it's an incredible testament to the human spirit, and what we are capable of. At one point in the film, I was like, "McGuinness is a bad***!!!" And it goes to show, that just because individuals may have important titles (in this case the detectives and those on duty at the sheriff's office), doesn't mean they are respectable or honorable. LOVED this film. Well done!!

An honest review of the dirty side of law enforcement tactics and their effects on our fellow man and families. One of the best documentaries I've seen.

I am a huge fan of documentary films and prefer them over most other genres. This film goes on my "very interesting" list because of the sheer insanity that allowed this case to actually go to trial in the first place. A 15 year old boy is walking down the street and a police officer says "well there is a skinny black male maybe he did it" and that was enough to warrant suspicion? A detective writes the confession using his own vocabulary and it is accepted as a confession? The police say the boy who is arrested robbed the murdered woman, put the $$ from the woman's purse into his own wallet, but when the woman's wallet is found it still has $1,200 in it? No one EVER looked for finger prints? At the end of the film when the identity of the real murderer is revealed you look at the boy who was arrested and the true murderer and say ummmm, how did you get those two confused. I kept thinking to myself, "is this real? Does this still happen in America? Are some members of the force really that inept?" I have two words...Watch It!

This is an outstanding documentary. The victim in this case is really the accused son of a very elegant family. I understand these two lawyers went into private practice because of some very poor choices made by the new head of their division. If you find yourself in trouble in Jacksonville these are the best people to help you. I like the fact that the prosecutor actually showed some contrition later on. They usually don't. See this movie for everything from the people, the timeline, the suspense, the intelligence to the music, it's very cool.
