It’s not the greatest documentary of Lennon, but it’s definitely worth seeing. It transitions from the making of the album “Imagine” to Lennon’s life in general, back and forward. I honestly wish it focused more on his solo years as that’s what it almost seemed to go towards. However it’s a great film to see with people speaking like Yoko Ono herself, Sean Lennon, Julian Lennon, and Cynthia Lennon. If you want to see a good documentary that goes more into detail of the album “Imagine”, check out “Gimme Some Truth!”.

This is the first full length documentary on John after his death, though it took 8 years to come about. It was good for its time, better docs have followed, but this one will always have a place in my heart. It focuses heavily on the Imagine period, and seems a bit rushed through all other parts. You'd think that with 200 hours of footage, they could have made a longer, more complete movie. That said, it's definitely worth watching a few times and it does have a ton of great music, including The Beatles years and both phases of his solo career. And Real Love makes its debut here. So watch it!

I love the Beatles so much, and i know so much about them. John is amazing. This documentary is amazing. I cried too, as i would have if i was born in the same time period as him, and when he died. It's to terrible his life had to be taken away like that, such a shame. He had such a big influence on the world. I love him. And this movie is great.

Being a hardcore Lennon and Beatles fan, I simply adored this documentary. Unlike other documentaries, all of the information is from John or Yoko or someone close to John's mouths. There is no outside narrator, the whole thing is narrated by John himself. This documentary provides the most accurate, detailed and unbiased insight to John's life. You will laugh and cry during this. The end will rip your heart out if you have one at all. All in all, Imagine is a very moving, informational look into a delightfuly wonderful man's life showing everything, leaving no stone unturned. If you have the slightest admiration for John Lennon or are a big fan of the Beatles, buy this film. You will not be disappointed in the very least.

I saw it today, when it came on VH1 Classic, and it was amazing. I smiled, I laughed, and I cried throughout the entire film. It's a wonderful insight into the life of John Lennon, you see his ups and his downs, and the majority of it all comes out of his own mouth. I reccomend this to any Beatles fans, and any Lennon fans. Warning, towards the end, if you are a die-hard fan, you will very likely cry. I did, and I still am as I write this review. John Lennon will always live on in our hearts, remember that. Peace&Love.

This film not only embodies Lennon's work after The Beatles as an activist and musician, but before that, when he was part of the greatest band of all time. This is a really good movie with tons of footage and music from Lennon and The Beatles!

As a John Lennon fan, I have learned so much more about the Beatles, and John's solo career after watching this documentary. Even without John being present for the project, it was great to look back on the legacy he left behind. His childhood, his young adult years, and when the Beatles came together to form the biggest, notorious band of all time. It also looked into the depth of his solo career, recording his "Imagine" album, and his publicized marriage to Yoko Ono. John also tooked about what he believed the future would bring. It was truly touching, and it almost brought me to tears to think that for a gifted, talented man he was, he can no longer share of magic of his music, and his kind-heartedness he brought throughout the world to promote what he believed in, and that was peace and harmony, so that the world could live as one. Finding musicians like John are very rare, and sometimes, the most rarest are the ones to look up to, and to aspire to be like.
