I gave it two stars for the awesome soundtrack which I bet you could find on AppleMusic. Then you can skip the movie!

One of the classics from the 1970s Pro-Blaxpolitation era of films and movie. The storyline was powerful and showed how Black men really felt about getting out of grips of poverty and the illegal economy. All of the actors bought the real effects of urban living in the 60s and 70s to this cinematic project. The sound track is still relevant 50 years later, with the great Curtis Mayfield composing and singing. This movie is more than entertaining and reflects a mindset that we continue to study to understand living in the hood with few choices.

Curtis Mayfield masterpiece is the template for a generation...Ron O'Neal gives a performance that shook the urban world to this day...

Nothing else like it! Curtis Mayfield's soundtrack is a masterpiece in itself. Combined with the film's action, it's a knockout. Check-out the soundtrack!

They call it "blaxploitation," but this movie is really about whitesploitation; - and it's far more radical a film than you have any right to expect. It's also well wrfitten and directed. The actors, from the stars to the walk-on parts, are convincing, and the city streets are appropriately gritty. Superfly gets his man. And you need to be getting Superfly.

I would write a review, if I could. I saw this movie when it came out in the theatre. I was trying to watch the trailer in hopes of purchasing the movie on ITumes. I was unable to see the preview, and I could not hear the preview. I have had this problem in the past renting and purchasing movies. I thought that ITunes fixed this problem. I am very disappointed that I will not be able to purchase the movie, I don"t want to have any further problems viewing the movie. When I saw it sooo many years ago, I thought that it was a good movie despite the exploitation.
