All time favorite movie! Film aged so well

Ignoring my initial reaction to the trailer as well as the reviews I just plowed ahead and bought this movie. Huge mistake! I knew the shaky cam would be horrible and it really, REALLY was but that’s, incredibly, not the worst part. And yes, I understand this is meant to be civilian, found footage. Casting B and C list actors however, made the acting worse than if they had hired actual non-actors. The general public isn’t as stupid and talentless as Hollywood likes to believe. The reason Blair Witch worked was because it was a small space, few people and it was dark. This movie was just plain BAD. The news reports an earthquake, 15 min later, when it’s clear that the city is being attacked, they’ve already deployed troops including TANKS in Manhattan? Absolutely 100% of everything in this movie is irritating and just plain rotten. I want my money back.

There was no explanation at the end or really any sense. It would have been a good story line though. It had me interested.

Great story, great action, suspenseful, and an excellent ending to boot! Very fitting ending for those foolish people and that selfish guy Rob!!

Surprisingly good even with the name.

Cloverfield has a perfect premise with monsters and mayhem. These individual characters and chaos around the city has made Cloverfield a franchise within.

Hands down, nothing else even comes close. This is my favorite monster movie of all time.
