I absolutely LOVE Gene's performance in Silver Streak, this is 1 of his best (see Willy Wonka and Blazing Saddles as well) This is a movie that anyone can sit down and watch many times. Viewers, buy this. Simple as that, it's great!

I love Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder! This movie is fantastic! :D I especially love the scene where Rita says, "Cut the gas, Steve! You're a grown man!" hahaha

Silver Streak! this movie!!!

Silver Streak is a movie I remember watching on cable from my childhood all the time. It has stayed with me all these 20 some odd years and I still love it. It is the perfect blend of mystery, comedy and romance. Gene Wilder, afraid to fly, boards the Silver Streak train to cross the country. While traveling he meets Jill Clayburgh, who is with her boss, and just as things get hot and heavy, he thinks he witnesses a murder. Did he or was it his imagination? His quest to find out and protect his lady love finds him in a heap of trouble and continuously being thrown off the train! Gene Wilder and Jill Clayburgh are perfect together. But, more importantly, this is where Gene Wilder met Richard Pryor and a genius comic duo of the 70s and 80s was formed. They're the super couple in this one. The tone is perfect and the funny is never at the expense of the suspense and vice-versa. PS: Henry Mancini provides the perfect score.
