Description

When jewel thief, Franky Four Fingers (Benicio Del Toro), takes a slight detour to London on route to delivering a huge stolen diamond to his boss in New York, he unwittingly sets off an avalanche of sinister and comic events that wind their way through the rough and tumble worlds of bare-knuckle boxing, Irish gypsies, pawn shops, pig farming and... a stray dog. Snatch, Guy Ritchie's brilliant follow up to his critically acclaimed Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, exposes us to his hip and helter-skelter view of London's gangster underbelly. Ritchie's characteristic fast-paced and constantly twisting story features a madcap ensemble cast of larger-than-life characters, including Jason Statham, an unlicensed boxing promoter; Stephen Graham, his bumbling Sidekick; Alan Ford, the local underworld kingpin; Dennis Farina, Franky's no-nonsense boss; Vinnie Jones, a legendary thug; Rade Sherbedgia, a psycho double-crossing Russian; and Brad Pitt, in a hilarious turn as a fast-talking gypsy bare-knuckle boxer.

Fantastic comedy, highly intelligent story (and again, comedy), a fantastic cast, and a great story all-round. Probably THE best comedy of all time, simply because it's the Smartest comedy of all time.

    Great movie! Love Guy Ritchie!
  • Just the film for when you’re stoned on speed, maybe. Not for people with an attention span.

There are a lot of good lines and good shots in this film. Brad Pitt makes a wonderful gypsy boxer. But the thing is like a trailer that never stops. Every scene is a “Watch this, Ma!” shout for attention or a laugh, and pretty soon you notice that the cascade of quick scenes is actually a cascade of 47 variations of five ideas, of which only two were really worth much. Thank goodness I rented it. I watched just about half before I thought “Man! I can buy about an hour of complete liberty for $1.495 by stopping now!” So I can’t tell you for sure that it doesn’t suddenly get better. There was no sign of it where I gave up, though.

Ritchie's second film is a fun and suprisingly thrilling view on the British crime by showcasing great performances from Statham and Pitt, as well as creating a pop culture staple to end this film

  • NOT THE ORIGINAL VERSION

BUYER BEWARE: This version is NOT the original version of the film — the voiceover provided by Turkish (Jason Statham) has been re-recorded so that his British accent is more discernible to the average American ear. He speaks more clearly and with far less panache than before; his cheeky performance is gone and has been reproduced with something much more sterile. Save your money. PLEASE, iTunes — FIX THIS!

One of Brad Pitt’s most entertaining movies. You won’t understand a thing he says, but you won’t care. Better than "lock, stock, and two smoking barrels”.
