Description

Set during the Korean War, "Pork Chop Hill" illustrates true heroism in war, when soldiers in the field fight the real battle while diplomats and UN officials attempt democracy as their troups are bleeding and dying. Gregory Peck leads a 135-man unit on the attack of the Chinese-held Pork Chop Hill. When reinforcements finally arrive, only 25 of Peck's men survive. Well known as one of the best depictions of life in the crossfire, with an uncanny "you are there" feeling.

This movie is one of the best war movies every produced well written, well edited it captures the true essence of the American army during the Korean War. Pork Chop Hill is a classic, and perhaps the best of its genre until Saving Private Ryan, and that is not a stretch of the imagination.

One of the few war films that can be filed under "Epic War Movies," along with The Longest Day, Hell is for Heroes, Battleground along with a few other ones. Capt. Ahab is back, and this time he in the Army's 7th Infantry Division fighting Koreans! Anyone who enjoys a good movie that keeps you on the edge of you seat(couch, car, bus), even if you have seen it 70-some-odd times, will find their money well spent after watching this great war classic. (but thats my opinion)
