This is what will happen with the left stealing the election and therefore the USA becoming a 1 party system... There will be no place for anyone who says anything bad about them. No church and no God. You already see history being erased with statues being torn down. You see the thought police with Twitter/Facebook ETC banning right wingers and anyone who challenges the lefts agenda. I’m not saying this will occur in 2 years... but this will occur if we don’t stand up. #MAGA

People are always saying the leftists are the ones who enslave us - this movie is agnostic in that respect. Watch this amazing movie - it will be a lesson in what it's like to live in a society where a government that controls it's people with alternative facts, with a vise like grip on all oppositon and information and the total degradation of human ambition and dreams as seen in 1984, a world taken to the extreme. Welcome to 2017 - See this movie!
  • Didn't like it!

I read the book and it was great so I was hoping that the movie would be just as good but I was wrong. There was a lot of frontal female nudity and rear nudity of the male. I preferred the 1956 version instead.
  • A dystopian classic but lose the Eurythmics

Excellent adaptation but someone please change the preview- that horrible Eurythmics song completely spoils the mood. Thank God they kept it out of the film for the most part (I believe there was some sort of legal fight if I recall).

  • A DARK FUTURE

The future looks dark and bleak from the eyes of John Hurt. A grey and depressing world in which John does not like. In a world of conformity, John stands as one of the few nonconformists seeking to go against what he is told and taught.

!984 was a good novel and all but the movie wsn't nearly as good as the book itself mainly becaus ebooks written from a phsycological perspective can't be easily translated to the screen without a few holes, mostly because it's all in the speaker's head. If Do say so, look elsewhere, but if Orwell's your thing, buy it even if it's not the best.
