At eighteen, the mother of four children and busy housewife still finds time to write and sing songs at small fairs and local honky-tonks. Recognizing her raw talent and huge potential, her ambitious husband Mooney (Tommy Lee Jones) prods her into making a record and going to Nashville. After a performance at the Grand Ole Opry, the record becomes a smash hit, launching her career to super stardom and changing the sound and style of country music forever.

I'm not a huge fan of country music, but this is a excellent biopic depicting the ups and downs in the life of a country music legend. Sissy Spacek and Tommy Lee Jones are fantastic.

Coal miner's daughter is probably the best bio-pic I have ever seen. Sissy Spacek stars as "The first lady of country music", Loretta Lynn. Loretta actually picked Sissy for this role herself, and she did a good job. This movie is about Loretta Lynn's early life ( her marrige at age 13) and her short climb to the top as the most beloved country singer of all time. This film has an all star cast of Tommy Lee Jones ( men in black) as Doolittle Lynn, Levon Helm ( The Band) as Ted Webb (Loretta's father), and Beverly D'angelo ( National Lampoon's Vacation) as Patsy Cline. The best part about this movie is that Sissy Spacek and Beverly D'angelo did their own singing. This movie is perfect for the whole family. Summary: Young Kentucky teenager Loretta Webb meets her future husband, Doolittle "Moonie" Lynn. About a month later they got married. By the time she was 21 she had 4 babies. ON their wedding anniversary, All she wanted was a wedding ring, he bought her a guitar. She became a singer because it was the only thing she could do. She became a star because it was the only way to do it. You will be amazed at how awesome this cast is (of course its awesome because it has Sissy Spacek In it). In the film you see Spacek portray a young 13 year old all the way up to a 45 year old, at the time that was older than she was. Also Beverly D'angelo's Patsy Cline singing sounded just like the real thing. If you downloaad coal miner's daughter I swear you won't be disapointed. This probably one of the best movie in the intire universe. But thats just my opinion. Go and watch the movie today and maybe you'll fall in love with it too.
