Description

Fred Astaire, Eleanor Powell and George Murphy sing and dance to the music of Cole Porter in this musical spectacular about the problems that arise when the wrong partner of a ballroom dance team lands a starring role on the Great White Way in Broadway Melody of 1940. In a case of mistaken identity, King Shaw (Murphy) is cast to star on Broadway--resulting an inflated ego for Shaw and a big headache for the theatrical company. Rather than stand in his way, King's much-more talented partner, Johnny Brett (Astaire), coaches Shaw for his starring role. But when King arrives late and drunk on opening night, the true star goes on stage--and triumphs. Featuring Fred Astaire and Eleanor Powell in a six-minute tap dance finale to Cole Porter's "Begin the Beguine."

Watch the end of the preview, it’s middle school boy humor. Sorry, I just need to point it out though.
