I'm not a really big fan of Joan Crawford generally speaking. Something about her just irks me. But in this film, paired with the inimitable Clark Gable and starring as a struggling B roadway hopeful, she really shines comedically. Plus its lots of fun to see a cameo by Fred Astaire and the Three Stooges are stagehands on the show she becomes star in!!! Clark Gable is wonderful as the tempermental director Patch. Overall a very funny, sweet film with a great wit to it and some nice, if odd musical sequences when it comes time to 'stage' the play. I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good comedy, whether they're fans of Gable and/or Crawford or not!
