Possitivly the best of all her proformances, Rosaliond "Roz" Russell is gold as Moma Rose Hovick. She and Natalie Wood shine in this stupendous version of the famous memoir. Natalie Wood is awesome as Louise. She's everything: sexy, classy, and witty. Though she's not the best singer. But who cares if she's taking off her clothes! If only there was someone like her today. As for Roz, she deserved an a Academy Award!!!!!! She's the best of the best! A lot of people criticise her for lip-sincing in this, but just buzz off. She couldn't sing that well, so what! I still can't get her Rose's turn out of my head. iTunes has a lot of Roz's film's but I'm still waiting for Night Must Fall with Robert Montgomery. i saw it on TCM and I loved it (I'm a mystery and suspense kind of person too)! But thank you for downloaded this nad be sure to watch!

The movie is the next best thing to the stage version. Although some songs were either cut from the movie (Together whereever we go) or shortened it still is a good production. The role of Mama Rose is one of the most difficult roles to portray. Rosalind Russel does a fine job. It is a shame that the songs are dubbed. Ethel Merman is beyond compare the best singer for the part. The production draws one back to the grand stage productions of vaudeville and burleque that are no longer part of today's culture. Another notable mention is Paul Wallace in the role of Tulsa does a fantastic song and dance number with Natalie Wood. It is a truly a classic.

I read the blurb that apple writes and would just like to bring it up that sondheim did NOT, in fact, write the music for Sweet Charity like it says in apple's description.

This was the first movie-musical/broadway film I ever saw. Natalie Wood shines as the shy Louise who is transformed into the sexy, legendary burlesque queen. Warner Bros. needs to ccapitalize on the possible success of the new BURLESQUE movie that opens this week and make this film not just HD available, but also BLU-RAY available too.

I like the Bette Midler version SOOOOO much better. ALL of the songs are in it, and Bette absolutely nails the role of Rose! Too bad you can't get that one on ITunes.. :(

I love te music to the broadway recording especially the one with Patti Lupone. I liked the movie but "Together wherever we go" was cut out and i didnt like that. Also even though i love her Rosalind Russel isn't at her best in this. Natalie Woods however is very good. So if you like the musical i would rent it.

Yay i'm the second to write a review!!! the only thing i didn't like is that they cut the musical number "Together, Wherever We Go". I't my favorite song and it's not even in the movie. :( :( :(
