A fun ride full of action, adventure, nudity, great music and fun. Those who claim the first movie is better are ludicrously blinded by nostalgia, Heavy Metal 2000 is far superior to the first.
  • It’s okay not bad but not that terrible

This movie is one of those that didn’t live up to its original output. As time goes on it gives a little charm but nothing but above the lines of nostalgia or things coming better with age. There are a few parts where it shines and the music by far is the most interesting and unique as I am more familiar with the metal music from that time. Bottom line just watch it and if something turns ur head, Just keep watching. Because there’s nothing like it out there these days, not that I’ve seen.

Cool lizard army, and gory fight scenes, a few nude scenes. In The end it’s entertaining , not hd though

This is the dumbest film I may have ever seen. Shame on them for capitalizing on the “Heavy Metal” name. I gave it one star because I can’t give it zero stars. Save your ten bucks.

.....they could have done better. Same old evil green glow, different crystal, yawn. Before I watched this movie I was hoping for a more original plot with new ideas. The animation was excellent anyways!

I cannot comparatively praise or criticize which areas delivered or lacked only having seen Heavy Metal 200, but feel it failed to deliver on multiple levels. Noticing several moments of oversexualization which may have been injected to be humorous, but instead become borderline grotesque. With a storyline and chain of events so farfetched no one will ever be expected to take it seriously, stipulating Heavy Metal was painfully superior. Julie focuses on revenge with a chip on her shoulder; I never particularly became emotionally invested. In all reality she was a generic model of a fierce heroin, but lacked depth which ultimately eroded her appeal. Every aspect of this film ample for commentary leaves me feeling soiled; it certainly did not meet my sanguine expectations.
  • An OK movie

The reason the first Heavy Metal movie isn't being sold isn't because of any song copyright problems (they sell the soundtrack to it here after all) so it has to be the folks who made it don't want it sold through this medium. As for this movie I guess somebody thought this would translate well to film. Myself I've seen some stories that would have done better.

I don't know what everyone else is crying about, this was a really awesome movie! I kinda felt like it reflected my generation (born in 1981), especially with the soundtrack. The first Heavy Metal was awesome and all but 2000 takes out the laid back stoner music of the 70's and really makes it true to its name! Plus the story line is really cool!
