Description

From director George Lucas (Star Wars) and producer Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfather), American Graffiti is a classic coming-of-age story set against the 1960s backdrop of hot rods, drive-ins and rock nโ€™ roll. Starring Ron Howard, Richard Dreyfuss, Harrison Ford, Cindy Williams, Mackenzie Phillips and Suzanne Somers in their breakout roles, this nostalgic look back follows a group of teenagers as they cruise the streets on their last summer night before college. Nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, American Graffiti features the howling sounds of Wolfman Jack and an unforgettable soundtrack with songs by Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, The Beach Boys and Bill Haley & His Comets.

Good movie. Coming of age film. Great soundtrack. Love Wolfman Jack. This movie shows how those days were the best days. Not like now. What a difference!

I love this movie and the escape from today's reality of "hatred and tech" The time this movie represents was innocent days. Thanks for the memories "American Graffiti"
  • Very superficial and extremely cliched

This movie tells nothing important, albeit the irrelevant events depicted are kind of authentic, although authentically cliched. For the same effect that this movie produces, saving you some time and cheaper, you might do a couple of real social interactions, and you'll feel much better than losing your time watching how proud irrational adolescents waste their time on a Friday night. There's nothing profound here, no lessons, everytinhing is stereotyped, and many of the teenagers are mean and rude, which will transfer bad energy into you.

Best part of the whole Zarquon movie. Also Harrison Ford singing in a funny opera voice is hilarious!

Captures the era so perfectly! The characters are great and funny! This is one of the best movies ever! Falls into the realm of Grease.

I could have swore that I bought this movie the week it was on sale for $4.99 this past summer, but somehow the purchase order did not go through. Or maybe I never completed it. Would you believe that 6 to 7 years ago, I received a movie credit, but the CS person did not make it a "full" movie credit, so I every time I do buy a movie, a pop up message tells me over & over, "You don't have enough free credits, still want to buy" & I feel like strangling someone....lol. Very Odd. I still don't know how to fix that to this day & I don't think Apple knows either. Anyway, maybe next time this goes on sale I will try to buy it then, cheaper.
  • Great movie; aweful sound quality

The movie is five stars. Sound quality of the iTunes version is aweful, though. More specifically: it seems as if this was mixed for the soundtrack/music. As a result dialog often is very low and at times very hard to hear unless you really turn up the volume, but then you have to turn it down again when music kicks in. Apple/the studio should really remix/digitize this. Regretting having bought this version.
