Bad movies like this are rare. It’s watchable and holds the interest of the whole family during Christmas. “Snow dad is better than no dad.”
  • I think it’s a comedy?

This Jack Frost is way scarier (and funnier, but that’s not saying much) and nowhere near the dumpster fire that the other Jack Frost movie with the murdering snowman is. And— its Michael Keaton’s best work. Ever. Seriously. Better than Birdman. I don’t recall Birdman having a talking snowman with a magical harmonica.

Usually, when it comes to films like this, in order to fully enjoy it, you have to set your expectations low. I figured that lots of people have done that and that’s how Jack Frost got 4.5 stars on iTunes. Of course Rotten Tomatoes have this film 19% because they always do that to films like this. But even with my low expectations, Jack Frost was just, not good. First off, the movie is about 1.5 hours. But because it takes forever to get started, and when it does, it spends way to long building up for a big ending, it feels long, overstretched, and just plain boring. The film spends way too long with snowman jokes and adapting to living life as a snowman that it spends very little time building emotional conflict. And by the time the end does come, as much as I wanted to cry, I couldn’t. That’s mostly because the film makes what could be used as an emotional device for later, like the snowball fight or when Jack was teaching Charlie to do the “J shot”, feels more like a cheap gag. And if that’s not enough, the film is just plain creepy and weird. I’m sorry. But I just couldn’t find this film to be heartwarming. In the end, it was just weird and sad. I’m sorry. But that’s basically what this movie is.

Not sure why this wonderful family holiday movie received a low rating from Rotten Tomatoes, but given that they aren’t the best source of movie reviews, no surprise. Nice annual movie to watch with your family or by yourself. Light hearted. Thanks.

See for me my Dad passed away not to long ago and this movie really means a lot because he got some more time with his Dad and its is positive to look on the positive side of things, and also it gives you a perspective of one kid that said he never go to meet his dad which is why it is ok that my dad died because I got to know him and he set a good example for me, and so this sets a good example for dads to be fun and to get to know their kids to set an example!

I would like to say this is best movie ever. It was on my stepmom's Netflix list and they took it off. I was so upset then my stepmom found it on iTunes and I was all happy! We didn't get to watch it on Christmas. My favorite part was when jack frost the snowman threw snowballs really fast at the bullies when his son was having a snowball fight with him. Everyone in the world should watch it! Sincerely, Julliette.
